About Elasmo-Buddy
Integrating conservation into the tourism sector
Elasmo-Buddy are our partners from the tourism sector. They are diving and/or tourism operators from all across Indonesia who are willing to participate in our citizen science program.

How does the collaboration work?
The Elasmo-Buddy (or maybe Elasmo-Buddies to be exact) regularly dives or snorkels, so they have a high probability of encountering elasmobranchs.
They actively submit their report encounters on EPI’s website and also promote the citizen science program to the tourists, diving guests, and their diving community.
EPI provides information and educational materials that can be used for the Elasmo-Buddy’s activities and operation.
We currently do not have an open registration mechanism for new Elasmo-Buddy. Send an email to epi@elasmobranch.id to discuss further if you are interested!

Elasmo-Buddy shares information about EPI’s citizen science platform to their guests and/or customers, encouraging them to turn their elasmobranch encounter experiences into meaningful contribution for conservation.

Elasmo-Buddy helps EPI to build networks for people who are interested in elasmobranch, supporting our community to improve understanding and exchange stories related to the species.
